" Modernity is timelessness, Being unable to date a fashion picture through any recognisable influences from the past, that's what modern is to me."
Amélie Moutia

What is your signature?

Non-perfection is what I love in Make-Up, preserving the charm brought on by the imperfection of a face or skin, revealing beauty in dimensions that might otherwise be perceived as flaws, natural complexions all in transparency, abstract looks with elaborate nuances of textures and colours.

What is the most complicated task ever demanded of you?

I thrive on complexity, so I tend to forget it... I'm looking forward to more of it.

What do you find fun about your job?

Every day is unique! It is so much fun to create, share and exchange collectively and spontaneously, to build beautiful images... And, to establish a connection with everybody around to help create the very specific climate of confidence and serenity that triggers the "letting go" so essential to reveal beauty...

What inspires you?

I am a keen observer and curious by nature. I love taking the time to really look at people, so introverted and outrageous personalities are all very inspiring to me. Art, in all its forms, is a great source of inspiration. I am very sensitive, so I can be transported by a texture, a sound, a fragrance or even a colour… Nature is my most beautiful muse.

And the job that you won’t forget?

An Azzedine Alaïa Haute Couture shoot, for MF Fashion Magazine. I was making-up next to the great Julien d'Ys and Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeel. It was an amazing day, and an unforgettable evening, close to Monsieur Alaïa.

What do you see as modern in today’s hair stylism?

Modernity is timelessness, Being unable to date a fashion picture through any recognisable influences from the past, that's what modern is to me.
