What is your signature?

Hair that "pops out" of the picture. That's why I always strive to bring out the mood, the personality, the styling, the make-up and all of their uniqueness. I like super clean textures, perfect ponytails, shiny hair, cornrows... A kind of perfection that can simply charm anybody.

What inspires you?

People on the streets who have their own singular style, haircutting and colouring, fringes, braiding, using hair accessories... I have also always found the pictures of Corrine Day (May the Circle Remain Unbroken) and Mario Sorrenti (Draw Blood For Proof) very inspiring. Looking at their work broadens my horizons.

And the job that you won’t forget?

The job that I will not forget was for Luigi Mureno, on a Givenchy show in New York. It was Luigi's last show, so I was very happy and excited to be part of it. Nothing got finalised until the last minute, so it turned out to be a great challenge, also.

What do you see as modern in today’s hairdressing ?

Textures that are both beautiful and elaborate, but with a touch of unevenness. It could be tousled hair, as if the model had just woken up... To me, that's what contemporary hairstyling is all about: beautiful textures with an element of surprise blended in.
